The operating temperature range extends from -269\u00a0\u00b0C to +400\u00a0\u00b0C, covering cryogenic environments through to extreme high-temperature processes. For comparison: PEEK operates up to 250\u00a0\u00b0C, PEI up to 170\u00a0\u00b0C. Added to this are high wear resistance, a stable friction level, very good electrical insulation and inherently flame-retardant behaviour without additives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grades<\/strong><br \/>\nPolyimide is available in five grades: Polyimide N (natural, unfilled base grade, highest purity), Polyimide G15 (15 percent graphite, self-lubricating), Polyimide G40 (40 percent graphite, maximum dimensional stability and very low thermal expansion), Polyimide MoS (molybdenum disulphide, for dry running in vacuum and oxygen-free environments) and Polyimide ESD (electrostatically dissipative, controlled surface resistance).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Product forms<\/strong><br \/>\nCOMCO EPP supplies polyimide in the precision sheet format 360\u00a0x\u00a0320\u00a0mm and as rods from 2\u00a0mm diameter, also suitable for miniature precision components.
