PEI Polyetherimide – the dielectric high-performance plastic from COMCO EPP
10.02.2026

Material
PEI (polyetherimide) is an amorphous high-performance thermoplastic with a continuous service temperature of 170 °C. It combines high heat resistance with stable dielectric strength across a wide temperature and frequency range, together with high resistance to steam and water vapour. As an amorphous material it is classified non-flammable, is semi-transparent in the natural amber shade and shows consistent behaviour during machining. PEI is available in natural and black.
Product forms
COMCO EPP supplies PEI as sheets and rods and as sawn near-net blanks. CNC-machined finished parts to drawing are produced in-house. In design, corners and edges should be rounded to avoid chipping during machining.
Applications
Electrical insulation components, microwave-exposed parts, components in glass production, steam-jet cleaning and sterilisation, and components in semiconductor and high-temperature industrial equipment.
