Material
PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) is an amorphous high-performance thermoplastic with high thermal stability, high impact strength and resistance to repeated steam sterilisation. It withstands hundreds of autoclave cycles without loss of mechanical performance or dimensional change and shows high hydrolysis resistance in humid environments. PPSU is available in two grades: an industrial grade for general applications and a medical grade formulated for direct contact with tissue and body fluids.
Product forms
COMCO EPP supplies PPSU in industrial and medical grade as sheets and rods. Cut-to-size blanks and CNC-machined finished parts to drawing are produced in-house. The medical grade is also available in thinner sheet formats for medical component manufacturing.
Applications
Surgical and dental instruments, sterilisation trays and containers, endoscopic components, sanitary and fluid handling, aerospace components, and membrane housings and water filtration.
