The challenge
Fresh drinking water is a precious commodity. But the world’s population is growing – and with it the need for clean water: especially in regions such as Africa, the Arab countries and Asia, demand is rising rapidly. The solution
Drinking water is treated with chlorine, ozone and hypochlorites. This means stress for Comco EPP’s plastic parts: the material must withstand the chemicals used, be food-safe, resist aggressive UV radiation and sunlight – over periods of many years.
The first step in drinking water treatment is to reduce the flow velocity in the basins and to filter out fine particles – this is called preliminary treatment. Table-size plastic plates and angle profiles are used for this. The engineering of these customised parts is done in close coordination with the customer. The solutions are scalable and the delivery quantity per plant ranges from one ton to 200 tons.
